The Experts in Asphalt Driveway Paving

High Quality Paving for the Longevity of Your Driveway

Over the years your homes driveway goes through the wear and tear of life. When it comes to residential paving, the options range from more cost-effective overlay solutions to in-depth removal and replacement strategies. If you are looking to just repair the surface damage, like small cracks, potholes, and water damage, Maintain It All is here. In this situation, we would recommend an overlay. This is a new layer of asphalt, approximately 2 inches thick, which is applied over your existing driveway.  However, in cases of a more deteriorated driveway, an overlay is not going to be sufficient. We recommend a complete removal and replacement of the asphalt. In this process, we must dig up the existing asphalt in order to create a new base and finish layer.

Why Quality Paving Is Key

When it comes to paving a driveway, it is important to understand the quality process is important to get the final product you will be proud of. The Maintain It All team focuses on creating clean layers that build on one another, leading to the perfect driveway.

How Can We Help

Our team will work with you to understand your needs. They will then be able to offer the correct solution for your driveway, which can include:

Annual Maintenance Plans

Depending on the climate and how hot it is outside, it can take anywhere from two to six hours for the asphalt to cool down and cure completely. That being said, you should wait at least 24 hours before driving on your new driveway. In the meantime, you can help protect your asphalt by keeping cars off of it and covering it with a tarp if necessary. You should also avoid parking in the same spot every day, as this can cause wear and tear. With proper care, your asphalt driveway will last for many years to come.

When it comes to asphalt driveways, the most important factor to consider is thickness. This is because asphalt driveways are typically dependent on the underlying ground for support, and a thicker asphalt layer will be better able to withstand the pressure of heavy traffic and other external factors. Generally speaking, a driveway should be at least 2 inches thick in order to provide adequate support and protection. However, depending on the quality of your underlying soil and the conditions of your driveway (such as whether it will be exposed to extreme weather), an asphalt driveway could require a much greater thickness. So while there is no one "right" answer when it comes to asphalt thicknesses, careful consideration of your specific needs and circumstances is key in determining what's right for your home.

Asphalt driveways are a popular choice for many homeowners because they are durable and require little upkeep. But how much does asphalt actually weigh? One square yard of asphalt generally weighs between 2 and 4 tons, depending on the thickness of the pavement. So, for a typical driveway that measures 20 feet by 30 feet, you would need between 13 and 26 tons of asphalt. Of course, this is just an estimate - for a more accurate estimate, it's best to consult with a professional.
