Speed Bump Installation Company in Norristown, PA

A freshly paved parking lot invites customers into your establishment. It communicates patron safety and pride in what your business does. A well-designed parking lot takes your company's presentation a step further by including the necessary features to add longevity to the pavement's surface, and to control the flow of traffic. At Maintain It All, our professional staff members are equipped to meet all your paving needs. We are able to install traffic-calming features such as speed bumps to ensure patron safety and proper traffic control.

What Are Speed Bumps?

Speed bumps are a traffic-calming (or traffic-control) measure meant to slow drivers down and remind them of the danger that speeding poses to pedestrians. Police can't be everywhere to enforce speed limits. Speed bumps help to mitigate safety concerns in areas of high traffic such as:

Shopping malls

Schools

Churches

Plazas

Home Owner's Associations

Speed bumps or speed humps are used as traffic-calming devices. The Institute of Transportation Engineers and the Department of Motor Vehicles recommends the following design guidance: Speed bumps are between two and four inches tall and one to three feet wide. Speed humps are between three and four inches tall and six to fourteen inches wide. Maintain It All designs and installs speed bumps as per ITE and DOT recommended specifications.

Speed bumps can be made out of asphalt or prefabricated heavy-duty rubber.  Speed bumps can be installed directly on the pavement. The advantage to rubber speed bumps is that they can easily be moved or relocated when necessary. Asphalt speed bumps are a more permanent option.
